Traffic Courts Record 22 Deaths and KD 139,000 in Fines in June

Comprehensive Statistics for the Governorates Announced by the Ministry of Justice

Pending Cases: 2,384; Resolved Cases: 1,183; Completion Rate: 49.6%

The Ministry of Justice recently released statistics revealing that traffic courts recorded 22 fatalities during June 2026, along with fines totaling 139,190 Kuwaiti dinars.

The statistics, issued by the Statistics and Research Department, showed that the total number of cases filed with traffic courts reached 684, while the number of pending cases stood at 2,384, with 1,183 cases resolved, resulting in an overall completion rate of 49.6%.

Al-Jahra Traffic Court led in the number of filed cases, accounting for 39.3%, while Mubarak Al-Kabeer Traffic Court ranked first in terms of pending cases at 25% and resolved cases at 25.1%.

Regarding judgments, traffic courts issued 10 imprisonment sentences and 14 license revocation orders. Al-Ahmadi Traffic Court recorded the highest number of fatalities with 10 cases, followed by the Capital and Al-Jahra Traffic Courts with 4 cases each, then Farwaniya with 3 cases, while Hawalli recorded no fatalities.

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Traffic Court also led in the total value of fines at 23.9%, followed by Al-Ahmadi at 21.7%, and Hawalli at 18.9%.
