The Central Informatics Organization (CIO) organized a workshop today, Tuesday, to review developments and projects stemming from strategic partnership agreements with Google Cloud and Microsoft, in support of comprehensive digital transformation and the adoption of best practices that serve government operations.
The workshop, held at the CIO headquarters, focused on two main pillars: developments in contracts with Microsoft and Google Cloud and an overview of their projects, as well as training and capacity building for government personnel.
Najwa Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the CIO, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the organization of the workshop is part of the ongoing efforts to implement the National Program for Developing Digital Skills in the country, which includes executing a comprehensive roadmap for digital transformation.
She added that the workshop serves as a window to monitor updates on future agreements and to assess the results of implemented projects. It also discussed new future projects with Google Cloud and Microsoft in the fields of digital transformation, information technology, training, and human resource development within government entities and state-owned companies.
She clarified that the workshop provided an opportunity for representatives of government entities and trainees to exchange views on how to utilize previously launched government platforms, and to identify key challenges associated with these initiatives to address them in the future, thereby ensuring the sustainability of digital transformation and achieving a secure and innovative digital environment.
She emphasized the necessity of cooperation between government entities and state-owned companies to enhance services in the fields of digital transformation and information technology through the exchange of expertise and shared experiences.
She affirmed the CIO’s continued work to identify the information technology and digital transformation needs of government entities, expressing the organization’s full readiness to train and qualify government personnel to enhance their skills and professional competencies.
This workshop follows ongoing cooperation efforts among government entities to ensure the success of the National Program for Developing Digital Skills in the country, which includes implementing a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap through strategic partnership agreements with Google Cloud and Microsoft. These agreements include platforms that contribute to achieving a practical, secure, and innovative digital environment.
The agreements signed by the State of Kuwait, represented by the Central Informatics Organization, with Microsoft and Google Cloud, constitute a framework to accelerate the implementation of digital transformation projects, leverage cloud technologies and artificial intelligence, and improve the readiness of government entities.
