'US State Department': Miami man pleads guilty to threats to kill Rubio and US officials
The U.S. Department of State announced on Monday that a man from Miami pleaded guilty to three charges related to posting online death threats targeting government officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In a statement, the department said the 47-year-old defendant posted three separate messages on the platform X on May 27, containing threats to kill Rubio at specific times.
It added that the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service led the investigation in cooperation with U.S. security agencies, before the suspect was arrested and referred to the courts.
