Electricity Authority Boosts Power Supply to Jaber Border Crossing with New Station
- Postponement of tender for three cloud data center stations to September 6
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy intends to supply and install a main substation at the Jaber Bridge to ensure continuous, uninterrupted power supply in the bridge area.
Sources stated that the ministry, represented by its Transmission Networks Sector, has requested the Central Tenders Board to issue a tender for the installation of the substation, along with a 24-month extension of the feeding line for the project. The ministry is awaiting the board’s approval to launch the tender to classified companies registered with the board. Meanwhile, the board has decided to postpone its decision until it receives a subsequent letter from the ministry detailing the amendments discussed.

On another note, the Central Tenders Board has postponed the bid submission date for the tender project to supply and install three main substations along with their feeders and accessories for the cloud data centers project in various locations, which is being offered on behalf of the Ministry of Electricity, to Sunday, September 6, instead of last Sunday.
The ministry is paying great attention to implementing the three substations to provide the necessary infrastructure for the establishment of modern cloud and data centers for cloud computing services.
