Arrest warrant issued for former Central Bank of Lebanon Governor Riad Salameh in financial crimes case

Lebanese courts issued an immediate arrest warrant on Monday against former Central Bank of Lebanon Governor Riad Salameh, in connection with a case involving financial and monetary crimes.

The National News Agency reported that the Beirut Court of Appeal Prosecutor, Judge Raja Hamoush, filed charges against Salameh and Samir Hanna, chairman of the board of directors of Bank of Beirut, and referred the case along with them to Beirut’s first investigating judge, Rola Othman.
