Small plane crashes west of Hamburg, Germany... Reports of pilot's death

A small plane crashed in a field designated for air sports west of Hamburg, northern Germany, after it fell into a field adjacent to Otterndorf Airport.

A police spokesperson said that police and fire crews responded to the scene, while a team from the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation in Braunschweig was en route to begin an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Media reports stated that the pilot died in the accident, while police declined to confirm whether there were any fatalities or to comment on the matter.
