Kuwaiti 'Integration Journey' Delegation Concludes Participation in Gulf Academy Program in the UK

The Gulf Academy for Leadership and Innovation (GALI) concluded its summer program in the United Kingdom on Sunday with a closing ceremony held at the University of Reading, west of London. The event was attended by the “Journey of Inclusion” delegation, representing individuals with strong willpower, led by Meshal Al-Khalid, a member of the Capital Governorate Council.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Khalid stated that the Kuwaiti delegation’s participation in this program underscores the importance of empowering, including, and integrating persons with disabilities in international forums, particularly through the presence of prominent international figures.
She emphasized that opening broader avenues for the active participation of individuals with disabilities across various fields enhances their visibility and highlights their capabilities and personal achievements, thereby reinforcing the notion that genuine inclusion entails partnership, equal opportunities, and active participation in shaping the future.
On this occasion, she expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation to all those who contribute to supporting the path of inclusion and empowerment, and to fostering a societal culture that views diversity as a source of strength, creativity, and achievement.
Al-Khalid specifically commended the Gulf Academy, under the leadership of Saad Al-Tami, for its significant and distinguished role in achieving these objectives.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, and Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies.
The summer program, which launched last Tuesday, featured a series of events and activities aimed at developing leadership and innovative skills, thereby boosting self-confidence and honing capabilities. It also facilitated the exchange of expertise and reinforced the concept of social inclusion and the empowerment of individuals with strong will to participate in leadership and development programs at the international level.
The program brought together 100 promising individuals from across the GCC member states, providing opportunities for direct interaction with leaders and experts, as well as participation in interactive dialogues, workshops, and field visits.
