The Catastrophic Personal Strategic Floundering
Dialogues
Strategic flailing refers to any misjudgment of circumstances, the consequences of voluntary personal actions, or any miscalculation of presumed next steps, as well as the randomness of life planning. The term itself (Catastrophic) indicates strategic flailing, representing the worst type of error on a personal level because it causes long-term catastrophic consequences.
Among its recurring indicators and causes, we mention the following:
- Indicators: Procrastination in identifying and making pivotal life decisions, making such decisions blindly out of ignorance based solely on emotional thinking or temporary emotional impulses, failure to distinguish between friend and foe, spontaneous unilateral initiation of love, affection, loyalty, and sacrifice, immersion in worldly affairs, forgetting the Hereafter, psychological immaturity, and delaying the termination of toxic relationships.
Also, neglecting to accurately identify one’s true personal priorities, over-disclosing intentions, priorities, and goals, revealing private matters, excessive kindness, unwillingness to learn from life’s lessons, failure to adhere to objective behavioral principles, lack of diligence in acquiring survival skills, naive belief in the permanence of blessings, indifference to gaining more strength, and emotional dependency.

Furthermore, failing to retaliate twice as hard, severing family ties for narcissistic reasons, spending money on material appearances to gain what is unseen, particularly for the sake of boasting before peers, the transient nature of the world before one’s eyes, unreasonable refusal to change, failing to address the root cause before the affliction arises, complacency in worldly matters, lack of preparation for the worst, and the belief that intelligence does not require cunning, with the latter (cunning) always being associated with bad character and corrupt intentions. Additionally, ignoring the non-verbal cues of people’s bodies and whether they align or contradict their spoken words.
- Causes: Lack of awareness of one’s true capabilities, emotional impulsiveness, susceptibility to being quickly influenced by others’ words, believing in the inherent goodness of human beings, excessive empathy at the expense of personal safety, and failure to use strategic patience as a weapon.
Also, lack of seriousness in assuming personal responsibilities, fear of change, negligence, fear of engaging in justified conflicts with bad people, failure to monitor one’s thinking patterns, excessive emotional reactivity, and neglecting to educate oneself about the laws and patterns of life.
