'Interior Ministry': 12 suspects arrested in 8 drug cases involving trafficking and consumption

- In one case, the seized quantities exceeded 80,000 capsules of "Lyrica"

The General Directorate for Combating Narcotics succeeded in arresting 12 suspects in eight separate cases, following a series of surveillance and investigative operations that revealed their involvement in possessing narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to traffic and consume.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the operations resulted in the seizure of 86,700 capsules of "Lyrica," 940 grams of heroin, 405 grams of methamphetamine, 100 tablets of psychoactive substances, 100 milliliters of chemical oil, and 20 grams of marijuana, in addition to four glass containers containing chemical oil and three sensitive scales.

In one case, the Directorate, in coordination with the General Customs Authority, managed to arrest a suspect after he received a shipment imported from abroad, which was found to contain narcotics concealed within decorative panels.

When confronted with the seized items, the suspect admitted to receiving instructions from an individual located outside the country to receive the shipment in exchange for a monetary payment.

All suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them.
