According to Russia Today, which cited Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, an image was shared showing Iranian oil experts in Kuwait in 1991, who had come to extinguish oil well fires set by the Iraqi aggression, and an image of Iranian experts in Kuwait is published.
Baghaei posted this on the "X" platform, stating: "The honorable Iranians extinguished the fires that befell you, but you have now become part of the villains against our people."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson is attempting to confuse the issue, mix truth with falsehood, mislead the reader with information, and bury the facts when Baghaei claims, "The honorable Iranians extinguished the fires that befell you, but you have now become among the villains against our people."

I say: Only an ordinary, ignorant person, far removed from the facts, would utter such words. We do not blame him, for his excuse is ignorance and detachment from reality. But is Baghaei also ignorant, or was he given false and inaccurate information?
In short, to avoid exhausting the mind of our dear reader with the lies Baghaei seeks to propagate, we first state: Kuwait did not deny the participation of a firefighting team from Iran’s oil sector in extinguishing the oil well fires. However, why did he ignore and fail to mention that ten other countries also sent firefighting teams to participate in the extinguishing mission?
Here, it is necessary to list the countries that contributed to extinguishing the fires. For the record, the Kuwaiti firefighting team was, according to global media, one of the most active teams and contributed significantly to extinguishing the fires in a short period. For the sake of history, the names of the countries whose teams participated in extinguishing the wells should also be mentioned: Kuwait, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom (via the Kuwaiti-British Group), France, Russia, China, Iran, Hungary, and Romania.
Secondly, the Iranian firefighters did not come to assist their Muslim brothers as a charitable donation or a service for the sake of God, especially since Kuwait, during that critical period, needed help from brothers and friends, and all honorable people on earth.
Secondly: The Iranian firefighting team did not return empty-handed. They received their full dues in US dollars, not in tomans, just like the other countries that participated in the firefighting mission. Why does the Iranian spokesperson criticize and distort the facts? Does he think that whether in Iran, Kuwait, or the world, people will believe Baghaei’s lies and nonsense? Did he himself believe it, thinking he has become the successor to Hitler’s propaganda minister, Goebbels?
Where do you live, Baghaei? Do you think there are people who fall for those lies and cheap nonsense? The world is living in an era of openness and free media. Do you think your nonsense will appear prominent in a dark hole underground?
During the brutal invasion, the Iranians did not make a decisive and principled decision to support Kuwait in its ordeal. Iran, which had just emerged from an eight-year war with a common enemy ignorant of and destructive to humanity and the region, should have been the first defender and supporter of Kuwait. Had Saddam succeeded in seizing Kuwait, the entire region would have fallen under Saddam’s control (Kuwait is the key to the region, for those who are unaware).
However, Iran, under Rafsanjani’s leadership (the Fox), held the stick from the middle. It gained the other half of the Shatt al-Arab from Iraq, following a humiliating concession from Saddam, who hoped Iran would stand with him in the war, in addition to hundreds of military and civilian aircraft. But the Fox, Rafsanjani, drank the cup and threw him into a pit.
Kuwaitis are not enemies of Iran, nor do they harbor hostility toward it or any other country. Rather, Kuwait likely desires good neighborliness with all its neighbors, exchanging interests without ambitions or favors, especially given the many commonalities that unite our countries.
Kuwait has never, and will never, harbor ill intentions or harbinger greed toward Iran or any other country. Yet, unfortunately, malice and greed often come from those closest to us. If Mr. Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, fails to grasp this, he should carefully reflect on the lesson.
Kuwait has not forgotten Iran’s participation in extinguishing the fires. However, your lies and distortion of facts are reprehensible. It is equally shameful that you accuse us while your missiles and drones rain down on the walls of our homes.
Shame on you, Baqaei, and shame on those who have tasked you with distorting the truth and twisting words.
