Mohammed Abdo: "My love, we were late; the sun doesn't rise."

Artist Mohammed Abdu released a new song titled “Takharrarna” (We Were Late), with lyrics by the late poet prince Badr bin Abdulmohsen and music composed by the renowned musician Talal. The track is part of the second installment of his 2026 album, “Artist of the Arabs and the Oud.” Rotana Music shared a video on Instagram featuring the song’s poster and a clip, captioning it: “‘Takharrarna,’ the new release from Artist of the Arabs Mohammed Abdu, part two of ‘Artist of the Arabs and the Oud 2026.’ Listen to it on your favorite platforms, with the musician Talal.”

The lyrics read:

We were late, when will we return?

I feel the chill,

And my fingers ache, seized by the cold.

We burned in the waiting, a date set,

And a forest of roses.

We wounded the moon and the stars.

My love, the sun does not rise.

Your chest is tight and burdened.

We were late.

Mohammed Abdu’s recent activities included his participation in the Saudi Arda performance celebrating the anniversary of the Founding Day, under the slogan “Glory is in us and from us.” The event was organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Emirate of the Riyadh Region. He also performed at the Khobar Season in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he held concerts in Kuwait at the “Kuwait February” festival, in the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Bayan Al Dana Theater, and earlier participated in events during the Diriyah Season.

He also hosted the “Sha’biyat Artist of the Arabs” session, a beautiful musical night as part of the sixth edition of the Riyadh Season, sponsored by the General Entertainment Authority. During the performance, he presented his recently released song “Al-Mudawi” (The Healer), accompanied by a Saudi musical band led by maestro Hani Farhat. Over two segments, separated by a short break, he sang several songs in the first segment, including: “Lak Wahsha” (You Are Missed), “Awhashatna Ya Habib” (You Made Us Miss You, My Love), “Ya Habib al-Ruh” (O Beloved of the Soul), “Ya Shail al-Zaby” (O Carrier of the Gazelle), “Hathith” (Lucky), “Taththibuni” (You Torture Me), “Tarih al-Hawa” (Prostrate in Love), “Alla Ma Bas” (Perhaps It Will Pass), “Li Thalatha Ayyam” (For Three Days), “La Taqul Wada’atani” (Don’t Say You Said Goodbye), “Law Takhalait Wa Shi Li” (If You Abandoned Me, What Would I Do?), and “Ana Wa Khalia” (Me and Emptiness).

He also recently held a concert in London, performing a selection of his songs, with a large audience in attendance.
