10 Companies Compete to Renew Street Lighting Equipment in Hawalli
Sources close to the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy revealed that a total of 10 qualified companies competed for the tender to maintain street lighting equipment in Hawalli Governorate, having submitted their bids to the ministry for review and the preparation of a technical recommendation to award the contract to the best bid that complies with technical specifications.
The ministry stated that the tender is among the important projects implemented by the Distribution Networks Sector. It includes periodic maintenance of main and secondary street lighting equipment, involving daily network surveys, fault detection and repair, and responding to traffic accidents in case of collisions with lighting poles. Additionally, it covers the raising and installation of lighting poles in dark areas and regions requiring infrastructure upgrades within the governorate itself, in order to preserve the urban appearance of streets through adequate lighting.
Meanwhile, the ministry is finalizing the procedures for two tenders currently advertised through the Central Tenders Committee for the supply, installation, and operation of secondary transformation stations for five governorates. The first tender covers Al-Jahra and Farwaniya, while the second covers Hawalli, Ahmadi, and Mubarak Al-Kabeer.
