Kuwait Customs Thwarts Smuggling of Large Quantities of Food Supplies via Trucks Bound for Egypt

Inspectors from the General Administration of Customs at the Salwa and Al-Khadra Vegetable customs offices thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of various food supplies, which were hidden inside trucks heading to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Customs Authority stated in a press release that the seizure took place while the trucks were undergoing customs inspection procedures. Thorough inspections revealed large quantities of diverse food items, in violation of applicable regulations and laws.

It added that necessary legal actions were taken against the offenders, and the case was referred to the competent authorities to complete the procedures.

The General Administration of Customs affirmed its continued efforts to tighten control at customs checkpoints and combat all smuggling attempts, thereby ensuring the protection of economic security, safeguarding the state’s resources, and enforcing laws and regulations with firmness.
