15 Construction Projects for Government Entities on 'Public Works' Plan on 26/27
In the context of its role in the construction and maintenance of government buildings and facilities, the Ministry of Public Works has included 15 construction projects in its contracts for the current annual plan (2026/2027), encompassing buildings and headquarters for ministries and government entities. The included contracts are divided between study and design contracts and execution contracts, adhering to the latest engineering, technical, and environmentally friendly standards, to meet the needs of these entities and provide a suitable working environment for employees and visitors.
On another front, the Ministry intends to implement a project for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and intersections on the Southern Regional Road, from the north of Abdullah Port Road in the North Al-Wafra area. The Ministry has included this project in the contracts of its current fiscal year plan for tendering through the Central Tenders Committee, with an implementation period of 39 months, according to the plan of the Public Works, represented by the Road Engineering Department.
The significance of the project lies in its achievement of several important developmental objectives, including the development and modernization of the Southern Regional Road, which forms part of the international highway network in the Middle East. This will subsequently contribute to the development of the integrated transport system and enable the highway network to facilitate and support regional and international trade exchanged among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
