Minister of 'Affairs': Strengthening Kuwait's position in international indicators related to women
- Approval of working groups and discussion on launching the “Women’s Platform,” and cataloging national initiatives and measuring their impact
Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailan, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Development and Chair of the Women’s Affairs Committee, chaired the second meeting of the committee today, Wednesday, with representatives of the member government entities in attendance. The meeting aimed to follow up on the implementation of decisions from the first meeting and to continue discussing several files and projects on the agenda.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Social Affairs stated that the meeting approved the formation of working groups emanating from the committee and discussed the draft project for the Women’s Platform, paving the way for completing the necessary procedures for its launch.
It added that the meeting addressed work priorities related to international indicators and reports concerning women, as well as mechanisms for cataloging national data and statistics, thereby contributing to supporting decision-making and enhancing integration among relevant entities.
The statement noted that the committee recommended cataloging, documenting, and measuring the impact of national initiatives and projects related to women, and highlighting them within the committee’s work and the Women’s Platform, reflecting the national efforts made in empowering women and enhancing their participation across various fields.
The statement quoted Al-Huwailan emphasizing that the committee continues its work according to a clear plan focused on strengthening coordination among government entities and leveraging national and international data and indicators, thereby supporting the development of national policies and initiatives.
She stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to consolidate Kuwait’s position in international indicators related to women and to enhance its presence in areas of development and community participation.
