Kuwait to face Portsmouth... Gulf Champions League draw set for August 24

Al-Arabi lost 1-3 to Egyptian side Pyramids in their fourth match during their training camp in Turkey.

The "Green" team concluded their camp in Turkey and will depart for India in the coming days to face East Bengal in Kolkata on August 12 as part of the AFC Champions League Two qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Kuwait will play their second friendly match this afternoon, facing English side Portsmouth in a friendly game as part of their training camp in the British capital, London.

Today’s match is the second experimental game for the "White" team in London, following a 1-0 loss to English side Milton Keynes Dons last Sunday. They will play a third friendly next Sunday against second-division team Barnet. The "White" team is preparing to begin their campaign to defend the Premier League title, which they have won in the last five seasons, starting on August 25. They are also preparing to participate in the AFC Champions League Two.

On another note, Al-Salmiya will conclude their training sessions this evening in preparation for their match against Qatari side Al-Marqhi tomorrow, Thursday, in their second friendly match during their external training camp in the Turkish city of Izmit.

The "Sky Blue" team lost their first friendly match 3-0 to Egyptian side ZED, and will face Algerian side Olympique de Chlef on Monday in their third experimental match. They are seeking a fourth friendly before returning to Kuwait on August 17.

In a related development, Kazma continues their daily training in two sessions and will play their second friendly match tomorrow against Saudi side Al-Raed as part of their camp in Turkey.

The "Orange" team drew 2-2 with Qatari side Al-Wakrah in their first friendly match, and will face Bahraini side Al-Khalidiya on August 10. They will conclude their friendly matches against Algerian side Olympique de Chlef on the 13th of the same month.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Cup of Champions announced that the draw for the third edition of the Gulf Club Champions League for the 2026-2027 season will be held on August 24. The competition will kick off on October 13, 2026, and run until April 30, 2027, featuring 12 clubs: Kazma, along with Al-Ittihad and Neom from Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr and Ajman from the UAE, Qatar and Al-Duhail from Qatar, Erbil and Al-Zawraa from Iraq, Al-Shabab from Oman, Al-Riffa from Bahrain, and Shabab Hadhramaut from Yemen.
