U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that it is continuing to implement the U.S. sanctions regime against Iran, affirming the ongoing nature of its maritime operations to tighten oversight of shipping activity linked to the country.

CENTCOM stated that as of August 3, U.S. forces had diverted 44 commercial vessels, disrupted two others, and boarded two additional ships, in accordance with the sanctions imposed on Iran.
