Ministry of Public Works discusses design of truck weighing lanes and stations in coordination with four government entities

- The project aligns with urban expansion and increased road freight traffic, and supports the development of the road network.

The Ministry of Public Works held a meeting chaired by the Director General of Road Engineering, Engineer Khaled Al-Asimi, to discuss the consultancy agreement for the study and design of truck weighing routes, stations, and their associated facilities in the State of Kuwait. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Municipality of Kuwait, the General Customs Authority, and the Kuwait Ports Authority.

The Ministry of Public Works clarified that the project is part of efforts to keep pace with urban expansion and increased road freight traffic, and to support the Ministry’s plan to develop, construct, and maintain major roads.

The ministry noted that the meeting reviewed the project’s strategic objectives, the scope of the study, and the expected outputs. Representatives of the participating entities discussed their requirements and observations, and it was agreed to hold periodic coordination meetings to complete the study and finalize the conceptual design of the truck weighing system in Kuwait.

The ministry emphasized that the Design Department has prepared the project’s terms of reference, which include conducting a comprehensive study of truck weighing routes, stations, and facilities, in line with the needs of the country’s road network.
