Al-Yousef: We need an initiative aimed at developing the global football system
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, President of the Kuwait Football Association, affirmed that decisions related to the future of development programs at FIFA must always be based on what best serves the interests of national associations and ensures the sustainability of their support and their ability to implement their strategic plans.
Al-Yousef clarified that FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision not to continue the FIFA Forward Enterprise project reflects a responsible approach that places the needs of member associations at the forefront of priorities, and underscores the commitment to maintaining the effectiveness of development programs that benefit the global football community.
He added that the Kuwait Football Association views positively any initiative aimed at developing the global football system, but noted that the success of any project depends on its alignment with the requirements of national associations and its ability to deliver added value without affecting core programs that form the foundation of football development.
