King of Hearts... Your speech from the 'White Dove' Square is clear in its brightness
When King Mohammed VI of Morocco states in his annual Throne Speech: “I have never sought personal glory or recognition for a leading role, at the continental or international level. What matters to me is faithfully serving my people and enabling all Moroccans to live free and dignified lives,” he reaffirms a principle that has guided the Kingdom for 27 years, since he ascended the throne.
In this regard, he builds on solid foundations established during the reign of his grandfather, King Mohammed V, consolidated by his father, King Hassan II, and further developed by Mohammed VI, who chose to live among his people rather than in ivory towers. From the outset, he recognized that the stability of his country depends on communication among all its components, and that social stability is ensured by an economy capable of continuous development. This is achieved by forging strong links between human resources, scientific expertise, financial power, and developmental legislation, in order to build an economic base that not only competes but also possesses the capacity for innovation by securing avenues for individual and collective creativity.
Today, thanks to the efforts of King Mohammed VI over the past 27 years, Morocco has become an African-Arab-international hub, not only in tourism but, more importantly, in industry, whether in the automotive sector or others. This helps create a productive economy that serves the African continent, with the Kingdom acting as its golden gateway, while also offering an Arab model worthy of emulation.
King Mohammed VI carries out his duties daily from every corner of the Kingdom. Hence, this year’s Throne Speech was delivered in Tetouan, known in Moroccan literature as “The White Dove,” a symbol of peace. This is a significant political message, indicating that Morocco is a Kingdom of Peace, committed to adapting to regional and international developments through a spirit of cooperation and initiative.
On this basis, Morocco continues on its path of development, undistracted by any other matter, as the Kingdom has resolved to become a productive base and operates on the creed of building for a bright future. Thus, when the King says in his speech: “This is not merely a matter of self-satisfaction, but a positive feeling of confidence and reassurance that gives us strength and motivation to continue our efforts,” he is sending a message to everyone, from the top of the executive hierarchy to the smallest citizen: if we are determined to achieve something, we must complete it, provided it serves the nation and its people.
On this occasion, all Moroccans look forward to the annual Throne Speech, because the monarch transparently reveals achievements as well as shortcomings in implementation. Therefore, it is a directive speech in which the King places himself in the shoes of the citizen, and criticism comes from the highest royal authority, so that those who fall short realize their mistakes in this or that area, and either work to reform or step aside for others.
After 27 years of rule by King Mohammed VI, this monarch, who has dedicated himself to his people and his kingdom, confirms that his country is following a clear methodology based on an equation he outlined in his speech a few days ago: “A clear strategic direction, a governance approach based on initiative, careful follow-up, constructive self-criticism, and looking to the future with determination and a positive spirit.”
This equation is rarely found in the world, especially when challenges impose themselves on the regional and international landscape. However, with the resolve of King Mohammed VI and his loyal people, it is no surprise that significant achievements are realized within a few years, as is the case with the Kingdom of Morocco today.
