Public Works Authority Launches Tender for Design of New Food Authority Headquarters

- Capacity for 1,750 employees... Comprehensive maintenance at 42 sites across governorates and 8 on highways

The Central Tenders Board approved, during its meeting held last Wednesday, the Public Works Ministry’s request to issue a tender for the project of preparing studies, design, and supervision for the implementation of the new headquarters of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. The board set August 30 as the deadline for companies interested in competing for the project to submit their bids.

The project is one of the construction initiatives carried out by the Public Works Ministry on behalf of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. It aims to provide a modern working environment in accordance with the highest technical and engineering standards, through the construction of eco-friendly buildings capable of accommodating approximately 1,750 employees.

The project includes a building for inspection staff in the Al-Mubarakiya Governorate, a theater, a library, a building for sports fields and activities, a mosque, warehouses, a sample cooling unit, a zone for inspecting mobile vehicles, as well as above-ground and underground parking areas with a capacity of 1,750 parking spaces.

The Public Works Ministry has set a period of 24 months for preparing the studies, design, and supervision, after which an independent tender will be issued to implement the project, which is estimated to take 39 months to complete.

Meanwhile, the Public Works Ministry announced the implementation of comprehensive maintenance works under new road contracts at 42 sites across the six governorates, in addition to 8 sites on highways, during the period from August 1 to 5.

The ministry clarified that the works include 3 sites in Al-Ahmadi Governorate, 6 in Al-Mubarakiya, 9 in Hawalli, 5 in Farwaniya, 9 in the Capital Governorate, and 2 sites in Al-Jahra, as part of its ongoing plan to enhance road network efficiency and improve infrastructure across various regions of the country.
