Ali bin Issa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Kuwait, affirmed that Moroccan-Kuwaiti relations represent a model of entrenched Arab partnership, rooted in solid historical and fraternal ties. He praised Kuwait’s firm and supportive stance on the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, as well as the close relations between the leaderships of both countries, which have contributed to consolidating cooperation across various fields.
This came during a speech delivered at the Moroccan Embassy’s celebration of the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne. The event was attended by Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Meshal, Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab Countries Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Adwani, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights Affairs Sheikh Jauhar Al-Duwaish, along with a large number of heads of diplomatic missions and members of the Moroccan community.
Kuwait... a "beloved country"
Bin Issa stated that Kuwait is not merely a strategic partner for Morocco, but a beloved country bound to the Kingdom by relations based on mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation. He expressed his appreciation for the sincere fraternal feelings held by Kuwait’s leadership, government, and people toward Morocco.
He praised Kuwait’s principled and firm stance supporting Morocco’s territorial integrity, emphasizing that this position is highly valued in Rabat and reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries. He noted that these ties are also grounded in the historical connections between King Mohammed VI and his brother, His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad.
He added that the Kingdom continues to achieve diplomatic gains as international support expands for the Autonomy Initiative, regarded as a serious, realistic, and credible solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue, in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Investment opportunities
The ambassador stressed that under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom has made economic development a central pillar of its modernization drive, transforming it today into an attractive economic, industrial, and logistical investment platform. This is due to political and institutional stability, advanced infrastructure, an enabling legal framework, and the development of key sectors such as automotive, aviation, renewable energy, the green economy, and the digital economy.
He pointed out that preparations to co-host the 2030 World Cup finals with Spain and Portugal will provide wide-ranging investment opportunities in infrastructure, tourism, transport, services, and the sports economy.
Growing economic cooperation
Bin Issa clarified that economic relations between Kuwait and Morocco have seen significant development in recent years. Bilateral trade reached approximately 943 million dirhams in 2024, with growth continuing into 2025. Moroccan exports to Kuwait rose by 7.1 percent during the first half of the year.
He added that Kuwait is the third-largest Arab investor in Morocco, with investments spanning real estate, renewable energy, telecommunications, financial services, and tourism. He noted that the direct flight route between Kuwait and Casablanca has enhanced travel and tourism exchanges, with the number of Kuwaiti visitors to Morocco exceeding 38,000 in 2025.
He noted that 2025 witnessed a surge in economic cooperation through the organization of two business forums, coordinated with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of Moroccan economic institutions, thereby opening new horizons for partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.
Joint Committee
The Moroccan ambassador expressed his country’s hope that the next session of the Moroccan-Kuwaiti Supreme Joint Committee, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Morocco in the coming months, would serve as an important milestone for updating the legal framework governing bilateral relations, signing new agreements and memoranda of understanding, and launching practical cooperation programs across various fields.
In conclusion of his speech, he reiterated his gratitude to the State of Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people, for their continuous support of the Kingdom, and expressed his best wishes for Kuwait’s enduring peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for further progress and growth in bilateral relations.
