China calls for restraint and dialogue to restore peace and stability in the Gulf region

China called on the relevant parties on Friday to exercise maximum restraint and continue to resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, contributing to the restoration of peace and stability in the Gulf region as soon as possible, while reiterating its rejection of any attack targeting innocent civilians and non-military facilities.

This statement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a press conference, in response to the targeting of a building belonging to a Chinese company in northern Kuwait yesterday, which resulted in the death of one worker and caused significant material damage.

Xinhua News Agency quoted Mao as saying that the Chinese embassy had contacted the relevant Kuwaiti authorities following the attack on the building, emphasizing that “no Chinese citizens were harmed.”
