25 dead and 44 injured in bus crash in Algeria

Twenty-five people were killed and 44 others injured on Friday following the derailment and overturning of a passenger bus traveling from the wilaya of Sétif, in the wilaya of Boumerdès in northern Algeria, according to the Civil Protection authorities.

Civil Protection stated that the casualty figures remain preliminary and could rise as rescue operations continue and the injured are treated.

It added that intervention teams are continuing to evacuate the wounded and transport them to nearby hospitals, while rescue efforts at the accident site are being completed.
