Al-Bisya: Launch of the 'Corporate Social Responsibility Endowment'
First regional international collective endowment
UN Ambassador and Advisor Hamad Zaid Al-Basiss, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Awazem Charity Foundation, announced the ongoing preparations to launch the "Corporate Social Responsibility Endowment" under the Regional Network for Social Responsibility.
Al-Basiss stated in a comment: "This endowment represents a unique and unprecedented qualitative leap. It is a Gulf and international endowment without precedent. Typically, endowments are local or family-based, but this endowment is of an unprecedented scale, involving social leaders from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait."
He added: "This is the first specialized international collective endowment in the field of corporate social responsibility in the Arab region. It has been agreed that Professor Dr. Youssef Abdelghaffar Al-Abbasi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will preside over the endowment's supervisory board."
Al-Basiss continued: "I will preside over the endowment on behalf of the State of Kuwait. Additionally, Professor Dr. Ali Al Ibrahim, Vice Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in the State of Qatar, will serve as the endowment's scientific advisor, while His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Marzouqi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will serve as the endowment's Sharia advisor."
He concluded his statement: "The endowment's supervisory board includes a select group of top experts in the fields of endowments and corporate social responsibility, drawn from the leaders and members of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, with the aim of consolidating the concepts of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility at both the Gulf and international levels."
