Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Appointed President of the Qatar Football Association

The Qatar Football Association announced on Tuesday the appointment of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa as president and Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed as vice president.

The Qatar News Agency quoted the association in a statement saying that the appointment decision was approved by the association’s executive board during its meeting today, adding that it comes as part of completing the current term of the board of directors until 2027, with the decision to be ratified at the association’s general assembly, which will be held next September.

The executive board of the Qatar Football Association had previously decided, during an earlier meeting, to nominate two candidates for the positions of president and vice president, following the resignation of association president Jassem Al-Buainain and vice president Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
