Namaa Charity implements relief projects in Chad
Al-Shamri: More than 30,000 beneficiaries in 10 days
Khalid Al-Shamri, Head of the Programs and Initiatives Sector at Namaa Charity under the Al-Islah Social Association, confirmed that the relief mission carried out by Namaa Charity to the Republic of Chad, which lasted ten days, resulted in the implementation of projects in the fields of water, food, and healthcare, benefiting more than 30,000 people, including Sudanese refugees in camps.
Al-Shamri explained that the team began its work in the capital, N’Djamena, by opening four artesian wells, each benefiting more than 2,500 people, in addition to performing more than 200 cataract surgeries, distributing 200 food baskets, slaughtering five calves, and preparing and distributing more than 1,200 cooked meals.
He added that the team continued its work in Sudanese refugee camps, where it distributed 640 food baskets, slaughtered 16 calves and five sheep, benefiting more than 1,200 families, in addition to distributing more than 1,000 cooked meals and organizing medical convoys that provided examination and treatment services to more than 7,000 beneficiaries.
He emphasized that Namaa Charity focuses on the sustainability of impact in its projects, noting that water projects contribute to providing safe drinking sources, reducing diseases, alleviating families’ suffering, supporting stability, and improving the quality of life in beneficiary communities.
He pointed out that the mission reflected the scale of support provided by philanthropists in Kuwait, affirming that Namaa continues to implement its relief and development programs according to the highest standards of quality and transparency, with field monitoring of projects to ensure sustained benefit.
Al-Shamri concluded by calling on philanthropists to support the “Kheir Yuroohum” (Goodness Quenches Their Thirst) campaign launched by Namaa Charity, which aims to implement 781 water projects in several countries and the most needy regions, benefiting more than 574,000 people. He stressed that providing clean water represents a sustainable humanitarian impact that contributes to improving the lives of thousands of families.
