Saudi Arabia condemns continued targeting of oil facilities by drones launched by Iran-backed militias in Iraq

-Asserted its right to respond and called on the Iraqi government to prevent its territory from being used as a launching point for attacks

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the continued use by Iran-backed militias in Iraq of drones to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province.

In a statement today, the ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s resolve to safeguard its security and sovereignty, and its reserved legal and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to respond to the sources of aggression and deter the aggressors.

It also stressed the necessity for the Iraqi government to take all required steps to ensure that its territory is not used as a launching point for aggression.
