Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi, affirmed that Omani-Kuwaiti relations are witnessing continuous growth across various fields, stressing that the level of ambition between the two countries “has no ceiling,” given the vision and support enjoyed by these ties from the leaderships of both brotherly nations.
Al-Kharousi said, in statements to journalists on the sidelines of a farewell diwaniya held to mark the end of his tenure in Kuwait, that he is experiencing mixed emotions as his six-year term concludes, combining pride in the joint achievements realized with sadness over leaving Kuwait.
He clarified that as his tenure in Kuwait ends, he feels a mix of emotions, stating that part of it involves pride in the joint work achieved between the two countries over the past six years, which witnessed reciprocal visits at the leadership level, alongside broad cooperation in various sectors and fields.
He added: “I also feel sorrow as I leave this dear and cherished country, for I lived here and shared the most beautiful memories with you. However, this is the nature of diplomatic work, where one moves from one place to another and from one country to another.” He affirmed that Kuwait will remain the most prominent professional milestone in his life and career.
He noted that he will miss Kuwait, its leadership, government, people, and diwaniyas, explaining that the farewell diwaniya was held to embody the deep love and bond between the two peoples. When asked how to characterize the level of relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait, he said the relations are “strong and evolving from beautiful to even more beautiful,” stressing that the ambition between the two countries has no ceiling, and that efforts to strengthen bilateral ties are backed by a forward-looking vision from the leaderships of both countries.
He added that this is reflected in the strength of economic relations, noting that the trade balance between the two countries is witnessing good growth, with Kuwait ranking third among the largest direct foreign investors in the Sultanate.
New Investment Project
In response to a question regarding a new Kuwaiti investment project in the Sultanate of Oman, Al-Kharousi revealed the existence of a Kuwaiti investment project that will be announced after completing its procedures, confirming that the announcement will be made as soon as the project is ready.
In response to a question about the name of the new Omani Ambassador to Kuwait, Al-Kharousi confirmed that the new ambassador has already been selected and his name will be announced in due course.

For his part, Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi affirmed that Ambassador Al-Kharousi spent his entire tenure among his family and brothers in the State of Kuwait, receiving all love and respect. He stressed that the peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are bound by solid ties of brotherhood, and that communication among them will always continue, wishing him a bright future and a life full of success.
In the same vein, Deputy Minister of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Al-Sabah affirmed that Ambassador Saleh Al-Kharousi made significant efforts during his tenure that contributed to strengthening fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two brotherly nations. He added: “You have done enough and more, and words fail to thank you for the role you played during your tenure in Kuwait.”
