Typhoon 'Noul' strikes southern China, forcing 340,000 people to evacuate

Typhoon Noul struck the southern coast of China, including Hong Kong, on Saturday evening, accompanied by fierce winds and heavy rain, prompting authorities to raise the alert level to the highest and evacuate hundreds of thousands of residents in Guangdong Province, while canceling dozens of flights.

China’s National Meteorological Center reported that the typhoon made landfall on the coast of Huidong County in Huizhou City, with wind speeds reaching 145 kilometers per hour.

More than 340,000 people were relocated to safe areas in Guangdong Province, and train services in the province were suspended, according to China News Service.
