The visit marked an important national milestone, coinciding with the announcement of the launch of the “With the Amir in Our Hearts” initiative. This initiative aims to publish a book documenting messages of loyalty, love, and pride addressed to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The book will feature contributions from sheikhs, ministers, governors, hosts of diwans, diplomats, and prominent national, media, and cultural figures, serving as a national document that reflects the depth of the historical relationship between the leadership and the people, and embodies the values of loyalty and belonging that characterize Kuwaiti society.
The delegation began its visit with a meeting with the women of the Al-Risha family, before moving to the main diwan, where they were welcomed by Fahad Al-Risha and the regular attendees of the diwan. The atmosphere was marked by warmth and hospitality, evoking the history of Kuwaiti diwans and their national and social role spanning generations.
During the meeting, Dalal Al-Saif emphasized that her presence at the Al-Risha Diwan was a source of pride, stating, “I am honored to be among my family and brothers today. Our home has returned to its rightful owners, and our sons are facing challenges with strength and firmness in defense of our homeland.”
Addressing the members of the Al-Risha family, she added, “You are children of His Highness the Amir before you are children of Al-Risha.” This remark resonated with the attendees, prompting Fahad Al-Risha to respond, “We are his sons, in accordance with the saying of His Highness when we visited him at Bayan Palace: ‘Al-Sabah is Al-Risha, and Al-Risha is Al-Sabah.’ His Highness repeated this several times, and it is a source of pride and honor for us. He keeps track of everything concerning us, big and small; he is our father before he is our Amir.”
Al-Saif affirmed that the Kuwaiti people are fortunate to have the Al-Sabah family, noting that each Amir leaves his own unique mark on the nation’s progress. She said, “His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad has been blessed by God with great shrewdness, wisdom, and love for the people. We pray to God to keep him as a source of strength and support for Kuwait.”
For his part, Fahad Al-Risha welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing that the visit carries profound national significance. He stated that their presence at the Al-Risha Diwan is a badge of honor for the Al-Risha family and all its regular attendees, embodying the approach established by His Highness the Amir to enhance direct communication with citizens and strengthen bridges of trust between the leadership and the people.
He added that His Highness the Amir’s interest in Kuwaiti diwans is not surprising, but rather an extension of his constant commitment to staying attuned to the pulse of Kuwaiti society. This stems from his belief in the historical role played by diwans as mirrors of society, platforms for dialogue and consultation, and one of the key symbols distinguishing Kuwaiti identity.
He pointed out that the diwan has never been merely a place for hospitality, but has throughout Kuwait’s history served as a unifying home for the Kuwaiti family, and as a social, political, cultural, and economic platform that has contributed to strengthening national cohesion and reinforcing values of consultation and solidarity among the sons of the nation.
Women of the Al-Risha family, Ms. Manira Saleh Al-Risha and Amal Abdullah Al-Risha, affirmed that the people of Kuwait renew their pledge of loyalty and allegiance to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and that they follow his wise leadership with sincerity and determination, believing that Kuwait’s strength lies in the unity of its people and their cohesion around their leadership. They added that His Highness the Amir, known for his wisdom and foresight, steers the nation’s progress with steadfastness and competence, praying to God Almighty to protect him and to perpetuate upon Kuwait the blessings of security, safety, and stability, and to keep its flag flying high with honor, dignity, and prosperity.
The meeting also featured a speech by Dr. Salma Al-Risha, Acting Supervisor of Secondary Education in the Hawalli Educational Area, who emphasized that renewing the pledge of loyalty to the State of Kuwait and its wise leadership constitutes a national responsibility. She stressed that adherence to the Constitution, respect for laws and state decrees reflect the values of good citizenship, enhance security and stability, and preserve national unity.
She added that educational institutions play a pivotal role in instilling values of loyalty and belonging, respect for the system and the rule of law, and strengthening national identity in the hearts of younger generations, thereby contributing to the preparation of a conscious youth capable of continuing the path of construction and development and safeguarding Kuwait’s achievements.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that the “With the Amir in Our Hearts” initiative represents a message of loyalty from the people of Kuwait to the leader of their journey, reflecting the solid relationship of trust, love, and allegiance shared between the leadership and the people. It embodies the cohesion and national unity of Kuwaiti society, and reiterates that diwaniyas will remain one of the most important social and national institutions that preserve Kuwait’s memory and strengthen values of belonging and interaction among its citizens.
