U.S. sources told Axios today that the U.S. military is preparing plans for the possibility of carrying out large-scale military operations against Iran, but President Donald Trump has not yet issued orders to initiate them.

The website quoted a source as saying that Trump did not give the green light on Friday to carry out strikes against Iran, after he had been approving attack plans daily.

U.S. sources also reported progress in the talks, pointing to the possibility of reaching an agreement between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman over the weekend.

According to the sources, Trump’s decision to halt the strikes came hours after the arrival of an Omani delegation in Tehran to hold talks on the Strait of Hormuz.

In the same context, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israel had been prepared to launch a strong strike against Iran on Saturday night, but Trump decided to postpone it.
