From the World Cup glow to 'Monumental'... Cape Verde goalkeeper Fuzenia joins Chile's Colo-Colo

After stealing the spotlight at the 2026 World Cup despite being in his forties, Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha is opening a new chapter in his career by joining Chilean club Colo-Colo.

Club president Anibal Mosa announced on Friday the completion of the deal with the outstanding goalkeeper, confirming that he will arrive in Chile in the coming days to undergo standard medical tests before being officially presented at the Monumental Stadium.

Speaking to journalists before a match in the local league, Mosa said, “Vozinha will become a Colo-Colo player,” adding that the goalkeeper remains in excellent physical and technical condition, which prompted the club to sign him.

Vozinha was one of the standout stars of the tournament held in North America, delivering impressive performances, particularly during Cape Verde’s goalless draw with Spain in the group stage, before Spain went on to claim the title at the expense of Argentina.
