Kuwait's 'Blue Hand' youth team defeats its Chinese counterpart (36-31) at the 19th Asian Championship
Kuwait’s youth handball team defeated their Chinese counterparts 36-31 on Saturday, in the classification round for fifth to eighth place at the 19th Asian Youth Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Championship in North Macedonia.
The tournament, held in Suzhou, China, began on July 15 and runs until July 27, featuring 13 Asian national teams.
Kuwait’s players established their dominance during the first half, with the “Blue Hands” team leading 21-17 at the break.
Kuwait maintained their superiority throughout the second half, securing a 36-31 victory. Kuwaiti national team player Yousef Madouh was named the match’s best player.
Kuwait will conclude their campaign in the Asian Championship on Monday, facing Chinese Taipei in the match to determine fifth and sixth place.
