'A Safe Summer with the Fire Department'... Campaign to Prevent Fires and Drowning Incidents
The General Fire Force launched its summer awareness campaign, themed “A Safe Summer with the Fire Department,” today at Al Khorain Mall, aiming to raise public awareness about the risks and causes of fires and drowning incidents, which tend to increase during the summer season, and to enhance community safety.
Spokesman for the Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the campaign will organize a variety of programs throughout the summer, including exhibitions, lectures, sea tours, and visits to shopping malls, government entities, and private institutions, to provide guidance on safety requirements, fire and accident prevention measures, and proper procedures for handling emergencies.

Brigadier General Al-Gharib clarified that the campaign aligns with the Fire Department’s commitment to raising preventive awareness among community members, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and property and reducing the occurrence of accidents.
He noted that the campaign will also focus on enhancing awareness of the importance of adhering to safety procedures at recreational sites, marine areas, and homes, highlighting the main causes of fires and accidents and ways to avoid them, as well as disseminating preventive guidelines to strengthen community preparedness.
He called on community members to engage with the campaign’s activities and benefit from its awareness programs, and to comply with safety guidelines and instructions, emphasizing their crucial role in mitigating risks and safeguarding lives and property during the summer.
In this context, Brigadier General Al-Gharib stated that the total number of reports handled by Fire Department teams across various governorates from January 1 to March 31, 2026, amounted to 3,633 reports, encompassing fires, rescue operations, other incidents, and general services. These included 750 fire incidents occurring in residential and non-residential locations and transportation vehicles across the country’s various governorates.
