Al-Nuwaysib Customs Foils Smuggling of Cigarettes Hidden Inside a Vehicle's Fuel Tank
Officials from the General Administration of Customs at the Nuweiba border crossing foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of cigarettes out of the country, following a thorough customs inspection of a vehicle.
The Customs Authority stated in a statement that the inspection led to the seizure of 43 cartons and 8 packs of cigarettes, which were tightly concealed inside the fuel tank and the gear shift decoration. These hiding places were specifically prepared to conceal the smuggled goods, confirming that the vehicle had been prepared for smuggling purposes.
The Authority noted that the necessary legal measures have been taken, and a seizure report is being prepared. The suspect and the seized items are being referred to the General Administration of Criminal Investigation to complete the standard legal procedures.
