Jürgen Klopp appointed as new manager of the German national team

The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Friday the appointment of Jürgen Klopp as the new head coach of the national team, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned following a disappointing campaign at the 2026 World Cup.

Klopp, 59, comes off a highly successful managerial career, having first made his mark with Mainz before achieving significant success with Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp made history with Liverpool, leading the English club to win the Premier League title in 2020, as well as the UEFA Champions League, securing the club’s sixth European title in its history.
