Kuwait Disability Authority Signs Contracts for the Supply of 300 Wheelchairs
Al-Hila: Monthly distribution of hearing aids based on assessments by specialized committees
Dr. Khalifa Al-Hila, Acting Deputy Director General of the Medical, Psychological, and Social Services Sector at the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, affirmed that the Authority continues to develop its services in accordance with technical and medical standards, ensuring swift execution.
In a press statement, he explained that the Authority has signed contracts to supply approximately 300 wheelchairs with specialized technical and medical specifications, selected based on recommendations from specialized committees that evaluate each case and determine the type of wheelchair according to the beneficiaries' health and functional needs.
He added that the contracts were awarded to companies providing maintenance, warranty, and after-sales services, ensuring the quality of the devices and the continuity of their use. He noted that the Authority has implemented a plan to expedite procurement and delivery procedures and monitor contract implementation, thereby reducing waiting periods and gradually resolving existing requests.

Regarding hearing aids, Dr. Al-Hila confirmed their continued monthly distribution to eligible persons with hearing disabilities, following assessments by specialized medical committees and after conducting necessary examinations. This ensures the selection of the most suitable hearing aid for each case, based on the degree of disability and actual need.
