Egyptian President Reiterates Rejection of Any Attack on Arab States

- Called on countries around the world to make every effort to stop wars, especially in the Middle East

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi renewed today his reaffirmation of his country’s stance rejecting any aggression against Arab states, calling on all concerned parties to cease the use of force, exercise restraint, halt escalation in the region, and return to the negotiating table, upholding the value of peace and safeguarding the rights of peoples.

In a speech marking the anniversary of the July 23, 1952 revolution, President el-Sisi called on countries around the world to make every effort to stop wars and conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, and to counter destructive tendencies aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed, and destruction. He stressed the necessity of not halting serious and vigorous efforts to achieve a just peace that ensures stability and prosperity for all peoples.

During his speech, the Egyptian president emphasized that the world is spacious enough for everyone, and that history has proven that violence only brings more violence, with its known outcome being devastation and destruction.

He stated that the July revolution was “a beacon that illuminated the paths of peoples in the Third World, and ignited the flame of liberation across the Arab nation and the African continent. Thanks to it, Egypt regained its sovereignty and consolidated its independent national decision-making, an independence that is secure, inviolable, and unshakable. To this day, we continue to draw lessons and insights from that experience.”

President el-Sisi added that “since 2014, Egypt has embarked on a resolute and unwavering journey toward comprehensive development and the desired progress befitting its status and its great people, despite the severe pressures and unprecedented challenges surrounding it, in a region teeming with wars and successive crises, and despite the substantial economic losses resulting from factors beyond the control of the Egyptian state.”

He continued: “We faced terrorism and defeated it without ceasing construction efforts. We consolidated freedom of belief, built places of worship, constructed modern infrastructure, eliminated informal settlements, established new cities, reclaimed desert lands, and built power plants for both conventional and renewable energy.”

The Egyptian president affirmed that “the success in preserving Egypt’s security and stability, and overcoming the crises and challenges it has faced and continues to face, would not have been possible without the resolve, tireless work, patience, and deep awareness of the Egyptian people regarding their surrounding circumstances, and their steadfast attachment to the state’s firmness in the face of every threat targeting it.”
