Pakistan: Threatening any ship flying our flag constitutes a threat to our national security
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed that any threat to a ship flying the Pakistani flag constitutes a threat to Pakistan’s national security, emphasizing Islamabad’s right to respond.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, stated that Pakistan reiterates the necessity of de-escalation and adherence to the provisions of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
He added that the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Egypt met on the sidelines of the ASEAN meetings in Manila, reaffirming the need to respect the sovereignty of the countries in the region.
He noted that Pakistan is concerned about attempts to draw Saudi Arabia into the conflict in the Middle East, reiterating its support for the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
