Prime Minister Honors National Team Champions: Your Achievements Are a Source of Pride for Kuwait

Under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Ministry of State for Youth and Sports Affairs held today the National Honoring Ceremony for champions of the national teams, both male and female, for the (2023/2024) and (2024/2025) sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.

His Highness the Prime Minister honored outstanding players and players from various Kuwaiti sports federations, committees, and clubs.

In a press statement after the ceremony, His Highness affirmed that the achievements of national team champions represent a source of pride and honor, reflecting the spirit of determination and perseverance displayed by Kuwaiti youth, and the distinguished efforts they make to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various international sporting events.

The Prime Minister stated that this honoring ceremony is in appreciation of the significant efforts exerted by players, coaches, and administrative staff, which yielded results and achievements that elevated the name of the State of Kuwait at regional and international sporting arenas. He emphasized that the government attaches great importance to Kuwaiti sports and is keen on providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue their excellence and achieve further accomplishments.

He added that investing in young national talents constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and honor in the achievements made by Kuwaitis in securing these high rankings.

Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that honoring our athletes today is an appreciation of their effort and dedication, and a message of pride in the achievements we all cherish. He stressed the continuation of support for athletes and the provision of an appropriate environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and realize their aspirations, thereby enhancing the position of the State of Kuwait on the sporting stage.

The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, also delivered a speech, noting that honoring athletes today is not merely a celebration, but a message of gratitude, appreciation, and pride to all athletes across all sports disciplines for their efforts and achievements, with the aim of raising the flag of the State of Kuwait at international events.

Attending the ceremony were Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma; Chairperson of Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club, Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem; and a number of presidents of sports federations and clubs, as well as senior officials from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
