Kuwait Finance House warns against engaging with suspicious links and electronic messages
As part of the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign
Continuing its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, aimed at enhancing financial literacy, and in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banks Association, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) warned against the risks of responding to suspicious messages and links.
Among the methods of online fraud is a message containing a malicious link that prompts the customer to click the link to access a specific website or to vote in a poll. Clicking the link compromises the customer’s device and allows unauthorized access to their data, which is then exploited for malicious purposes.
Kuwait Finance House emphasized reminding customers that the bank will never request their personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls. Therefore, customers should avoid responding or sharing their information with such entities, as these are fraudulent attempts designed to obtain customers’ banking details in order to steal their money or personal data.
Regarding the protection of bank accounts, Kuwait Finance House has provided important advice to customers, such as not saving sensitive information like bank card numbers or PIN codes on mobile phones, as well as refraining from sharing one-time passwords (OTPs) with anyone and logging out of the bank’s application or website immediately after completing transactions.
