'Zain' contributes $10 million to the 'Kuwait Emergency Response Fund' initiative

Zain Group has announced its support for the national strategic initiative launched by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to establish the “Kuwait Emergency Response Fund,” aimed at bolstering national readiness and enhancing the ability to face challenges and exceptional circumstances.
The Group noted that it contributed $10 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative, highlighting that this national initiative came at a highly critical time, representing a collective national response to a phase requiring the alignment of national efforts and the integration of roles among state institutions, the private sector, and various relevant entities. This imposes a shared national responsibility necessitating active participation from major national institutions.
Sustaining National Achievements
Zain emphasized that the current phase, marked by rapid regional developments and exceptional challenges, along with their direct and indirect impacts on the sustainability of national achievements, infrastructure efficiency, and the continuity of essential services, underscores the importance of unifying national efforts and strengthening partnerships among various state institutions and the private sector. This is essential to consolidate Kuwait’s readiness and its ability to handle various changes and exceptional conditions.
The Group stated that this initiative came at a pivotal time witnessing national challenges and imperatives that demand the highest levels of readiness and solidarity. As a national institution closely linked to Kuwait’s developmental journey and having experienced its various stages and challenges, the Group revealed that contributing to this initiative represents a national duty before it is an institutional responsibility. Al-Kharafi affirmed that “the Kuwait Fund’s Emergency Response Initiative represents a model of national partnership and embodies the state’s vision of building an institutional framework capable of responding swiftly to exceptional circumstances by mobilizing and directing national resources toward priority projects and needs, thereby enhancing the state’s capacity for preparedness and recovery during crises and emergencies.” He clarified that “national readiness is a shared responsibility requiring the unification of capabilities, and that the private sector is a key partner in supporting the state’s plans and strengthening its ability to manage changes and mitigate their impacts, ensuring the continuity of essential services and preserving the stability of state institutions and vital facilities.”
