Kuwait Fund for Development: Aiming to Enhance National Preparedness and Strengthen the State’s Capacity to Confront Challenges

The Kuwait Fund for Development announced yesterday that a number of Kuwaiti private sector institutions and companies have contributed a total of $6 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. Launched by the Fund on July 5 of this year, the initiative aims to bolster national preparedness and enhance the State of Kuwait’s ability to address challenges and exceptional circumstances.

In a statement, the Fund noted that Badr Nasser Al-Kharafi Group (BNK) Holdings contributed $1 million, “in appreciation of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative and in commitment to supporting its efforts in line with its national and social responsibility.” It added that this contribution stems from the importance of supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting the country and strengthening its capabilities to face challenges, as well as fostering cooperation between various state institutions and the private sector.

The Fund also mentioned that Gulf Cables and Electrical Industries Group contributed $2 million, “in commitment to contributing to the success of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative and reaffirming the importance of supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting the country and strengthening its capabilities to confront challenges.” It emphasized that this contribution embodies the values of solidarity and shared responsibility, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the state’s preparedness and capacity to handle various exceptional circumstances and emergencies.

Furthermore, the Kuwait Securities Exchange and the Kuwait Clearing Company jointly contributed $2 million, “in commitment to contributing to the success of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund initiative in alignment with national and social responsibility, and in recognition that the collaboration of all state institutions and the private sector constitutes a fundamental pillar for enhancing the capacity to confront crises efficiently and effectively.”

Additionally, the Fund reported that National Investments contributed $1 million, “in recognition that the collaboration of all state institutions and the private sector constitutes a fundamental pillar for enhancing the capacity to confront crises efficiently and effectively,” and reaffirming the importance of supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting the country and strengthening its capabilities, as well as in commitment to contributing to the success of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund in line with national and social responsibility.

The establishment of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund comes within the framework of an initiative proposed by the Kuwait Fund for Development and approved by the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund will manage the fund and exercise full oversight over its operations, aiming to create institutional resilience capable of responding immediately to urgent developments through a comprehensive national vision.

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development reiterates its call on all government institutions, public authorities, private sector companies, and national financial institutions to actively contribute to supporting this strategic fund, given its role in bolstering national preparedness and enhancing developmental security.
