Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments and Enhance Regional Security
Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss the latest regional developments and ways to enhance regional security and stability, as well as a number of issues of mutual concern.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the two sides discussed Iran’s repeated attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, targeting civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, and the resulting repercussions on the security, stability, and safety of citizens and residents of the Kingdom. They considered these attacks to be a violation of international humanitarian law, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and the principles of good neighborliness.

The two ministers also addressed the repercussions of the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the safety of maritime navigation, energy and food supplies, and international trade. They emphasized the importance of ensuring navigation security in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea, and discussed coordinating common positions in the UN Security Council regarding regional issues and challenges.
