The only solace is that the deceased left a new generation, inspired by the legacy he bequeathed. His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, is working to consolidate that legacy, as it was built on a solid foundation. The state embodies continuity and sustained development; thus, it has worked to diversify income sources to ensure a sustainable economy. This is part of the great legacy left by the Emir, which encompassed Qatar’s comprehensive renaissance, media openness, advancement of infrastructure, and the elevation of education through Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It also cemented the country’s diplomatic role in regional and international mediations, elevating the state to the ranks of global economic and sporting powers.
Today, Qatar enjoys abundant qualified youthful energy capable of tackling challenges. It has been on the right path for some time, positioning itself as a force able to overcome difficulties and obstacles with ease.
Much that is associated with the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, has made the transformations in the country’s modern history a feature that cannot be overlooked. He worked to modernize small states in area but large in their international role, strengthening Qatar’s presence at both the regional and international levels and cementing its role in political affairs, mediation, and diplomacy.
