- Fundamental maintenance works are being carried out in 43 areas and sites on highways

Al-Siyasa learned that the Ministry of Public Works has referred the implementation practice for the project to construct entrances and exits to Jabir Al-Ahmad City, with a total cost of 1.070 million dinars, to the Court of Audit for review, audit, and the application of prior supervision, and to issue an opinion on approval in the absence of any observations requiring the Ministry’s response.

In a related development, the Ministry previously obtained approval from the Central Tenders Committee to launch the practice for a period of 540 days, with the execution of works to be carried out through a general practice in accordance with Article (17) of Public Tenders Law No. (49) of 2016.

It is worth noting that the project serves the residents of the Jabir Al-Ahmad residential area and provides safety and security standards to protect property and lives from accidents and traffic congestion. It includes works for the city’s entrances and exits at sites (1 and 2), protection of oil sector services and other ministries’ services in the area, as well as accompanying services such as stormwater drainage and lighting, in addition to ground traffic control works, traffic signs, protective and crash barriers.

In a different direction, the Ministry announced that fundamental maintenance of roads will be carried out under new contracts in 43 areas across the six governorates and at sites on highways during the period from July 18 to 23.
