Jordan Summons Iranian Chargé d'Affaires in Protest Against Continued Brutal Attacks and Incendiary Statements

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Amman on Sunday, delivering a strongly worded protest message against Iran’s continued flagrant and unjustified attacks on Jordanian territory, as well as inflammatory and provocative statements issued by official Iranian entities regarding Jordan.

In a statement, the ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, emphasized that Jordan’s Foreign Ministry had instructed the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires to convey a clear message to his country to immediately halt the attacks on the Kingdom. He stressed that Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens constitute a red line that cannot be violated, and reiterated the necessity of ceasing all unacceptable inflammatory rhetoric.

Al-Majali clarified that the ministry condemned and denounced Iran’s flagrant attacks, describing them as a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a gross breach of international law and the UN Charter.

He also affirmed Jordan’s condemnation of Iran’s flagrant attacks targeting the sister Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, expressing Jordan’s absolute solidarity and unwavering support for them in all measures they undertake to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

Al-Majali reiterated that Jordan will continue to take all available and necessary steps to protect the safety of its citizens, its security, and its sovereignty.
