Kuwait: Iran's deliberate targeting of vital and civilian facilities reflects a systematic aggressive approach and constitutes a highly dangerous escalation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the heinous Iranian aggression that occurred this Sunday morning, which once again targeted a power station and a water desalination plant in a direct attack on a vital civilian facility.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement that the repeated deliberate targeting of vital and civilian infrastructure reflects a systematic aggressive approach and constitutes a highly dangerous escalation and a serious threat to the safety and security of civilians.

It added that this constitutes a blatant violation of the provisions of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, holding Iran fully legally and morally responsible for these serious attacks and their ensuing repercussions and consequences.

It further stressed that the State of Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and defend its territory and vital infrastructure against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and the rules of international law.
