Minister of 'Affairs' Inspects 'Care for the Disabled' Center in Sabahia: Residents' Safety is a Top Priority

The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, visited the Care and Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities in the Sabahiya area, which falls under the purview of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities. The visit was part of ongoing monitoring of recent security developments, ensuring the safety of residents and staff, and verifying the center’s readiness and emergency response plans.

During the visit, Dr. Al-Huwail reviewed the conditions of the residents and the level of healthcare and social services provided to them. She also inspected the center’s facilities, reviewed the readiness of shelters, evacuation plans, and emergency protocols, and examined the preventive measures implemented to ensure the highest levels of protection and safety for residents and staff.

She emphasized that the safety of persons with disabilities is a top priority, noting that the Ministry and the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities are monitoring all care centers around the clock to ensure their readiness and the continued efficient delivery of services. This includes periodic reviews of emergency plans and raising preparedness levels to handle any new developments.

The Minister expressed confidence in the safety of all residents and staff, commending the readiness and commitment observed in implementing emergency plans and preventive measures. She praised the efforts of the center’s management and its medical, technical, and administrative staff in providing comprehensive care and maintaining stability within the center.

Dr. Al-Huwail concluded her visit by affirming the continuation of field visits and direct monitoring of all care centers and facilities affiliated with the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, along with continuous coordination with relevant authorities. These efforts aim to enhance readiness levels and ensure the sustainability of care and protection services for beneficiaries under all circumstances.
